Who
The client is a US-based large software company
What
As a part of its international growth strategy, the client planned
to release a localized version of its core product versions
including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Italian,
Spanish, Portuguese and Swedish as soon as possible. However,
the product was designed without considering the internationalization
requirements, and the client did not want to recode the product
entirely for this release.
Solution
After analyzing the client¡¯s requirements, BizSmooth built a
dedicated project team consisting of software development members
and localization staff (including languages experts and technical
experts). The project team developed a software ¡°extractor¡±
to pull all texts in the product, and move them into the backend
database. Then the team coded a language filter to select the
texts from the backend database according to the language requirements.
After that, the localization team translated the original English
text into the different languages and made the TVT available
on different OS platforms.
